[Action/Unintentional Video]

[Vincent wanders through the House of Personas, staring at reflections of... himself. He passes by future versions, which look exactly unchanged from one to the next. Sometimes the images aren't him exactly, but rather the four beings inside him.]

[The ones from the past are different, though. He lingers briefly at one of his Turk self. Then continues moving along, now to one where he's half-transformed- the first time it ever happened. This is where he pauses for a while, recalling the horror he experienced upon discovering the alterations.]

The result of an experiment...

I'm sorry to hear that. Especially since I once performed experiments which were... less than moral.

[He turns again to look at the real one, expression wary.]

What kind of experiments?

I made people into cyborgs. My advances in technology helped a lot of people. I could replace lost limbs, and make them even better than before. In fact, technology I developed saved me when my original body was destroyed. But then I started using my technology for more sinister purposes. I... created a mind control device.

...and you now regret that action?

[As much as Vincent doesn't like the details of what he's hearing, this penguin-creature isn't remotely like Hojo in personality.]

I do. At the time, I had convinced myself that it was for the greater good, but in the end I just tried using the device for revenge. Fortunately, thanks to my friend, Gordon, I realized my mistake and was able to deactivate it.

Then you've realized your mistake... and repented for it.

I tried, and both Gordon and Jennifer, the girl I attached the device to, forgave me, but the Universe didn't. I'm still working to repent for my mistakes.

Penance requires a long time... I understand.

[Kurtis' beak doesn't allow for much expression, but the reflection in the mirror smiles.]

Thank you. What sort of experiments were done on you? I've never seen anything like that.

I wasn't aware of the specifics... [because he's pre-Dirge] ...but... based on the scientist's other work, I assume it was genetic.

Genetics... not an area I know a lot about. Even if I had equipment, I don't think I would be able to undo anything that was done to you.

I doubt anyone could... I've learned to exist with it.

[Kurtis nods]

Sometimes we have to accept these things.

Unfortunately true.
