Groose has returned home.

[Vincent normally doesn't care to remark on these things, and it's not as if he knew the real Groose too well. It's not even as if he was the type of person whose company he'd want to be in. And yet... and yet, because of the experiment prior to the last, he has just enough lingering familiarity that his leaving is bothersome.]

I wonder if perhaps... some of us were not meant to ever return to where we're from. If perhaps that's for the best.

[There are Reasons he's started to think this, but that's all he's going to say for now on the matter. For now, he's limping across town slowly, with a pair of ruined shoes and some terribly aching feet. Magical dancing really took a toll on them- he only hopes he'll find the appropriate type again.]

[She should, although Vincent will act like it's unnecessary.]

A frustrating one... but I could say that of any where abilities are lost and gained.

[The healing at least does help, and he feels better for it.]

[He's going to have to tell her to stop at some point, because she's kind of really bad at that.]

[She nods while looking him over, caring less about his expression than any more wounds.]

That was...interesting...but I'm glad it's over. I wouldn't want to be without my magic for long. Do you need more?

Then there are those that must for anything to progress in their worlds. It is not a pleasant thought, but it is true all the same.

I won't deny that...

[He'd always been the first to think that, especially whenever an ally arrived here from his past. The trouble is, he's never met anyone from his future, and he's started wondering if there's a reason for it.]

...but what if someone could unintentionally cause their world grave danger by returning?

Some might cause the very end of their world as they know it when they return. The deaths of those they love. The destruction of everything they held dear.

[Some might. One would. Further elaboration isn't hers to give, however.]

Intentional or not, what is, is. What will be, will be. Unless while they are in their own world and are able to change it- events will progress as they must.

The typical way of things.

[There's some agreement there. What will be, will be... Sounds like the philosophy he usually keeps with, until something drastic happens, something he can't ignore.]

Yet a world's destruction is hardly 'events proceeding as they must.'

Must is...a word that I find to be fluid in meaning. What must be done, what must occur- what should occur or will occur depending on whether or not someone is stubborn enough to stand in the way of things.

[A chuckle.]

And there are some terribly stubborn individuals in most worlds.

Given those in my world, perhaps I shouldn't underestimate them.

...Although I still would prefer it not come to something terrible.

But if you don't, then... doesn't that mean that your world will never move on?

It often does... but what if you knew that there was potential for harm to fall upon your world with your return?

[Maybe it was just a mistake, that he'd been sent to the wrong world last month... but he has other suspicions.]

[Then he would never want to go back. ...but that's not really the right thing to say, so he sort of avoids talking about what he would do.]

Then... you should do what you can to try and stop it.

I would... if I knew of anything that could prevent it.

[Not for lack of trying, he's given it a great deal of thought over the time that he's known about what may come to be.]

So it's better if nothing happens at all?

If it prevents unnecessary sacrifice of lives... then perhaps so... but it's nothing any of us can control in this situation.
