[Voice/Action]
Groose has returned home.
[Vincent normally doesn't care to remark on these things, and it's not as if he knew the real Groose too well. It's not even as if he was the type of person whose company he'd want to be in. And yet... and yet, because of the experiment prior to the last, he has just enough lingering familiarity that his leaving is bothersome.]
I wonder if perhaps... some of us were not meant to ever return to where we're from. If perhaps that's for the best.
[There are Reasons he's started to think this, but that's all he's going to say for now on the matter. For now, he's limping across town slowly, with a pair of ruined shoes and some terribly aching feet. Magical dancing really took a toll on them- he only hopes he'll find the appropriate type again.]

[Voice]
[He'd always been the first to think that, especially whenever an ally arrived here from his past. The trouble is, he's never met anyone from his future, and he's started wondering if there's a reason for it.]
...but what if someone could unintentionally cause their world grave danger by returning?
[Voice]
[Some might. One would. Further elaboration isn't hers to give, however.]
Intentional or not, what is, is. What will be, will be. Unless while they are in their own world and are able to change it- events will progress as they must.
[Voice]
[There's some agreement there. What will be, will be... Sounds like the philosophy he usually keeps with, until something drastic happens, something he can't ignore.]
Yet a world's destruction is hardly 'events proceeding as they must.'
[Voice]
[A chuckle.]
And there are some terribly stubborn individuals in most worlds.
[Voice]
Given those in my world, perhaps I shouldn't underestimate them.
...Although I still would prefer it not come to something terrible.
[Voice]
[Voice]
[He quietly ponders that.]
I intend to prepare... using what information I've been given. Far better to know, and be able to prevent it, than to remain in the dark.
[Voice]
[She shifts against the pillows, grunts a bit at the ache, and replies.]
That which you are intending to prepare for; is that to take place here, or in your own world? If it is here, then that is the most appropriate course of action. If it is your world...you may not remember what you have learned while in this place. Most forget upon their return.
[Voice]
[But that state did end up temporary, after all.]
[Vincent notices the grunt, he's always been a decent observer, but he doesn't comment for now. Undoubtedly it's something related to the past experiment.]
That erasure of our memories is the obstacle I face. A terrible destruction could be unleashed upon my world at any time, and it involves... something within my possession. [That's a way of putting it, anyway.] If I return with it, the risk is great. Yet if I cannot even remember...
[Voice]
[Her voice thickens on that note. Dead, remaining dead. It isn't something she wants to spend that much time contemplating. Especially with how close she almost came not that long ago.]
I have come to understand that what is found, obtained, or earned through missions in the village do not return with you when you go back to your own world. They simply vanish.
[Voice]
I had a feeling that might happen... [A pause, it's not as if he has any reason to withhold everything about it- what might happen on his world at least has no basis here. So he hopes.] The item I'm speaking of was originally from my own world, given as a gift on one of their holidays some time ago... but I assume it would likewise vanish.
[Voice]
But when you return, I do not think it will travel with you. It will be one less thing to worry about.
[Voice]
[Even if that return means forgetting that he even knew of it in the first place.]
I suppose that's true. So many of these concerns are over something that has yet to be. [Or may not ever happen, but what he read sure was foreboding.]
[Voice]
[She takes a long moment, speaking as much to him as she does to herself. Predominantly though, she speaks to him.] There is enough to consider, and more than enough to be concerned for in this place. Adding on what might happen when you return home would be maddening.
[Voice]
...and those concerns in our present situation are unending.
[It even seems that new ones always come up, despite believing other matters to be resolved.]
[Voice]
[Without specifics, there can be no arrangements made. No plans drawn. Vague 'perhaps this' or 'maybe that' prevent proper countermeasures. And that is all there is here. All there ever will be, unless something crucial changes.]
It is enough to drive a woman to drink.
[Voice]
[Especially after the more mentally draining experiments.]
That everything might alter without warning... is the difficult reality of our situation. We have no control.
[Voice]
[A soft, weary sigh.]
Though that is not much of a comfort, is it Monsieur?
[Voice]
[There is always worse that can happen, he knows that firsthand.]
