A day's time...? Then I must prepare.

In the meantime if... No, never mind. It's just as well I'm not here.

[It's more notice than one ever gets with a kidnapping, he knows that, although it's still... bothersome. Vincent had hoped he could continue the beginning of this year in relative peace. Besides, it's another New Feather wave and he always finds himself wondering every time whether she'll be returned. But it might be best if he's away for a time so he's not constantly wondering.]

[So Vincent will be hurrying along between places- weapons shop, item shop, and a stop by the Barracks for some old-fashioned shooting. Sometimes just putting bullets repeatedly in a target is the best thing.]

Yes... I'm being sent on one of their missions.

[If it's anything like the drafts, then he more or less knows what to expect, but he's convinced they'll throw something more unexpected at him.]

[A nod.] Did they tell ya which kind?

[Cargo guarding duty was boredom with the occasional spice of fighting.]

They didn't give much information... beyond the day's notice.

[If he can have something that doesn't push his limits, he'll be ok with any fighting. But definitely best to prepare and have plenty of ammo so as not to resort to his... other defenses.]

[Well... he looks like he can handle himself. Something about the coat is good at giving that impression. So... she'll just be minding her own business again, then.]

How did that turn out?

Mostly we were just... guarding boxes, movin' from one place to another. We got attacked once, but it wasn't anythin' like the drafts.

Far less dramatic than the drafts.

[Which he doesn't mind. He can keep Them more controlled in that kind of environment.]

That's one way of puttin' it. There are less of 'em to fight, anyway.

Were you in any of the locations the drafts visited before?

Not any of the one's I've been on. It was just some shipyard.

There seems no end to the variety of locations...

[It does make him wonder again just how vast it is out there, beyond the barrier.]

[She just shrugs a little.] It is a whole world out there.

It's easy to forget, after so long in captivity...

[It was the same when he spent all that time in the basement, locked in... his own world, in a sense. It seems the story of his life, apparently.]

...yeah. I reckon I could see how that's the case.

[He takes another glance around, wanting to be sure he has all he'll need once he gets out there.]
