[Vincent has been busy getting a late present for Lucrecia for that recent holiday. Of course, it's his luck that he would notice about her being kidnapped right then. So now we have an especially glare-y Vincent departing the area of the stores.]

She does not deserve to suffer. It is I who...

[Vincent becomes a red blur as he speeds along to keep up with Kadaj. Gunfire echoes through the area as he continually shoots at him. All the while, tension is building deep in his mind, that feral side which he's struggled so hard to contain..]

[The monsters are restless, and it's only a matter of time before one takes over.]

[One bullet embeds itself in his upper thigh, but Kadaj doesn't slow, the pain nothing but a motive for him to push harder. Using his right hand, while trying to keep the steady stream of bullets from making impact with Souba, he summons a Shadow Creeper; he wants to use it to slow Vincent so he can move in closer.

Kadaj is useless if it's not close combat, after all.

The Shadow Creeper appears to the left at Vincent, and jumps at him, ready to tear into him.]

[And Vincent for the most part prefers shooting from a good distance. The better not to end up losing it to the monsters. He keeps focused on Kadaj, firing repeatedly...]

[Until the Shadow Creeper jumps. It takes him by surprise as it does that, hitting and making a deep wound in the process.]

[Vincent snarls in anger, and then an inhuman growl escapes from his throat. Like it or not, they're getting even louder. He slashes at the Shadow Creeper with his clawed gauntlet.]

[Kadaj moves in closer, close enough to reach out and touch Vincent if he so chose to, the distraction the Shadow Creeper provided proving fruitful, and lets the monster disappear with a flick of the wrist as Vincent strikes it. Vincent's enemy was Kadaj, not a monster made of darkness.]

[Vincent re-focuses on Kadaj once the Shadow Creeper vanishes, swiping at him with his claw.]

[Kadaj blocks with Souba, the resounding clang making him laugh, before he conjures up a fire ball. He tosses it at Vincent's middle.]

[It's all been building up all along, so it was only a matter of time before one more thing just pushed him over the edge. As the fire hits him, it especially attracts the creature most linked to that element. Within instants, a darkness surrounds him and Galian Beast replaces the human. He roars and leaps toward Kadaj, claws slashing at him.]

[Kadaj tries to leap backwards, tries to avoid the monster he knew was lurking beneath Vincent, but the beast's claws catch his chest, tearing the leather, and tearing the skin beneath. He doesn't flinch, instead tries to return the attack with Souba, all the while concentrating on calling the spirit of Lightning so that electricity will dance across his blade.]

[The Lightning-enhanced attack is effective, and Galian receives a deep gash from the strike. He launches into a Beast Flare, shooting several fireballs at Kadaj.]
