The line between monsters and humanity is... thinner than I assumed.

[Vincent is heading off toward the forest. He walks quickly, with a great deal of intent in his stride, and his expression. It's made a little less dramatic by the fact that he's still mostly covered in pink dye, despite attempts to wash it off. But after the events of the draft, and then coming home to Remnants going crazy, he's still battling with the inner demons. His only consolation is that they're not as powerful in here.]

[Once he reaches the forest, he takes on the form of the Galian Beast, running around in hopes of letting the monster have some release while (he hopes) staying well away from people. Do you bother him anyway? Y/N/MAYBE]

[...And is that a tinge of PINK in the large wolfy beast's fur?]

He has his uses, when I'm better able to reign him in. [Vincent watches him, wanting to assure himself that he didn't inflict damage too terrible.]

No. Well.. I mean... [He sighs] From now on it's my 'natural' form. But I'm supposed to be human.

[James reaches up and tweaks on his ear, his paw running over the missing tip with a little miffed 'humph'] It tends to bite me in the ass when people find it interesting.. [He looks down against at the burnt spot on his clothes and fur, then back up at Vincent] You didn't hurt me, don't sweat it.

[Vincent raises an eyebrow. They seem to have some similarities...]

I know that feeling all too well. I was once only human, myself.

[He seems satisfied that he hasn't done any life-threatening damage or the like. Now is not the time to take on extra guilt.]

Hey! Really? I mean, I kinda did this to myself on accident... but it's the same theory! ... Sort of.

What'd they stick in you though? I've never seen.. whatever it was you were.

There are four of them. Monsters, demons... call them what you will. I have no scientific details on procedure that bound us together... but... it left me with the capability of transforming into any of them.

...How did you gain your ability as an accident?

Four? You have four of those things in you? Wow... sounds tough.

I'm a geneticist. I made a particular genetic coding into a liquid, it was supposed to be injected into the blood-stream and from there it would graft itself onto the DNA of the recipient. However... I didn't get to test it... [He gets rather flustered at this] I'm... well... kind of a clutz...

Well, yeah. I suppose I could be brain-dead AND a fur-ball. [James goes a little unfocused at that, a shiver running down his body briefly]

Soo.. how do you control your demons?

Mentally, for the most part. I can resist them most of the time, but... strong emotion, especially in the midst of battle, can bring them forth.

This time, they have another reason to be restless.

There are times when they are easier to hold back, but... not entirely.

Sure it is! Every action has an equal and opposing reaction! ... Which is to say that there's a way to undo everything that's been done given the proper science.

Hell, in your case it might even be easier! I mean, you didn't bond at a genetic level. At least, you don't look like you've bonded with four demons genetically.. have you? [ o_o ]

It's possible that I have, to some extent... although I was not aware of the specific details of the experiments performed.

The one who did this to me... did so without my consent or knowledge. One might call it an act of revenge.
