It's been a trying time for us all. These events are far beyond my expertise to handle, although I've done all that I could. [A small sigh about that. This version still has his angst about the monsters, but he also has a way of distracting himself.]

In the meantime, while we have something of a respite... for any ladies who are lonely for companionship, I would be honored to provide that. To those I'm not acquainted with, I'm your resident Valentine. Vincent Valentine.

[Be afraid. Be very afraid. Vincent has actually combed his hair and has tied it back into a ponytail. He's also looking very... gentlemanly and polished overall, and has even set aside his old tattered cape for one that's in much better condition. He's in a mood to wander around town, so you can expect to run into him most anywhere today.]

[...and if you're a woman expect to be randomly given a single red rose if he should so much as glance at you.]

Wonderful! I'm honored that you would like to spend this time together. I just can't stand being alone, it's always so much nicer to have company. [He'd take her hand, but she's hovering so he'll just settle for being very close to her as they continue along.]

I don't mind being alone, sometimes. It's hard to find someone who will keep up with me in the air. But it's also nice to be around friendly people, too. I feel like I've learned so much about humans by being here. There's still a lot to learn, though....

That's even more motivation for me to practice control over Chaos. If I manage to accomplish that, we can fly together. [He can only hope! But he'll try ANYTHING for a naked woman.] So tell me more about yourself, Terra, how did you come to be so mysterious and captivating?

Um...I don't know. I'm an Esper. I guess humans would think that mysterious enough? But...I'm just me.

An Esper? So you're descended from the very Summons themselves, I didn't realize that. How fascinating! I'm glad to meet someone else who understands what it's like being among humans but feeling apart from them in ways. That doesn't stop me from enjoying their company, of course.

[She shrugs. In her mind, she would have explained it when they first met. No reason to pretend she's not an Esper, after all.]

I know what you mean. They're very different...but so interesting! Some of them aren't very nice, but others make up for that. I'm glad they're not all like what I remember from home...at least the bad ones.

Hm... Perhaps I simply misunderstood. [It is a little confusing, but he's pretty sure Terra is someone who can be trusted on her word.]

But yes, I have to agree about the people here. They're so fascinating~ I always just try to surround myself with the company of those who are most pleasant to be around... like you, Terra.

Thank you, Vincent. It wasn't easy to deal with so many other people at first, but the only other option is to hide away in the woods or mountains. That gets boring, after a while.

It does get boring to be alone, I can't say that I like it. I spent nearly three decades locked away... so I try to compensate now by being around other people as much as possible.

You really should! I get lonely sometimes, and always can use the companionship. Especially when I think about upsetting times like that.
