It's been a trying time for us all. These events are far beyond my expertise to handle, although I've done all that I could. [A small sigh about that. This version still has his angst about the monsters, but he also has a way of distracting himself.]

In the meantime, while we have something of a respite... for any ladies who are lonely for companionship, I would be honored to provide that. To those I'm not acquainted with, I'm your resident Valentine. Vincent Valentine.

[Be afraid. Be very afraid. Vincent has actually combed his hair and has tied it back into a ponytail. He's also looking very... gentlemanly and polished overall, and has even set aside his old tattered cape for one that's in much better condition. He's in a mood to wander around town, so you can expect to run into him most anywhere today.]

[WHAM. He's suddenly flipped to the ground, taken entirely by surprise by this. He blinks in confusion.] I'm afraid I don't know what you mean... I feel perfectly fine. I'm willing to talk about any problems we might have, of course...

[Dammit, it didn't work..oh well, it made her feel a little better.] No you're not, you're acting weirder than normal.

[Vincent frowns a little, but he's still concerned for Yuffie's sake, thinking something's wrong with her. For some reason he's got a built-in Obliviousness to anyone ever put off by his... habit of coming on strong, so it can't possibly be to do with that behavior.]

Could you tell me what you mean by that?

[Well she's just fine, but unless he figures it out, he's staying on the ground, because she's not helping him up.]

I mean you're acting weird!

[He's busy being dazed here, hold on. Though gradually he does sit up, trying to piece this together in his mind. Being a detective should help him, but he's always found himself at a loss to understand events in Luceti.]

I don't understand, Yuffie... perhaps you could help me with some information. In what way am I acting weird?

[It probably doesn't help that no one can ever understand Yuffie anyway..]

How are you not? [You have your hair up man. That's just weird.]

[And he also gets very fussy about brushing off his clothes as he finally gets up from the ground.]

I'm sure I would have noticed if I felt unusual... Could you tell me some specifics that you're noticing, sweetheart?

[O-oh god he called her sweetheart..and he's fussy about his clothes, really trying not to laugh again. REALLY trying.]

Y-your hair, clothes, how you're talking...and a lot more.

[Vincent again looks baffled when she laughs, and then looks briefly at his clothes, to ensure that there's not a spot on them or anything ghastly like that.]

...but I always speak like this, and I always wear these clothes. Although, it's a peculiar thing, I recently noticed that so many of my cloaks were awfully tattered. [Which is bad for picking up the ladies in.]

Nooo, you don't. You've never called me anything but Yuffie up until now...and what about your hair then? [And the other cloak was cooler to hide in though..]

But I've always called you by whatever term of affection strikes my fancy. Charming ladies like you always bring out that side of me.

I've always worn my hair up, it looks much better that way, don't you agree? [He looks a little troubled by all of this, really.] And... I've always been nothing but polite to you and the other ladies in our company. I apologize if I ever offended you.

Well, then, maybe I'll take it down for you sometime. What are you doing tonight?

Tonight? Absolutely nothing.

Would you like to have dinner together? [He can't believe he hasn't asked you out on a date since that time at Gold Saucer! ...because in his version of events he went through the whole female cast, beat that, Cloud.]

...You can cook? [Pfft, she doesn't believe that. And she's only agreeing to this because it could end in more laughing....she hasn't been able to laugh this much in FOREVER.]

When I was studying to be a detective, I took a few culinary courses on the side. There's no better way to a woman's heart than a man who can actually cook a meal. [Vincent will do anything to get the ladies. ANYTHING.]

As long as I won't die from eating it, I'm game! [She's hungry anyway.]

Of course not! I'm a perfectly good cook. Shall we go there now? [Vincent reaches to try and take her hand.]
